1Dustin Strand returned to FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Arizona) on Wednesday night for the second round of the Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout. Following a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Tyler Peterson, Strand reeled in a runner-up finish in the feature trailing Ricky Thornton Jr. across the line with Matt Gilbertson, Tyler Wolff, and Alex Guthmiller completing the Top-5 finishers.

After having Thursday night off, Strand suffered mechanical issues while leading his heat that prevented him from finishing. He was unable to get the problem fixed before the start of his consolation event.

Returning on Saturday for the doubleheader, Strand followed up the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group with a 4th place finish in the 15-lap feature behind D.J. Shannon, Rodney Sanders, and Joe Duvall with Bumper Jones coming in 5th.

Later Saturday night, Dustin locked his spot into the $1,000-to-win A-Main with a 5th place finish in his heat. With Mother Nature postponing the event until Sunday, Strand passed 16 cars in the 25-lap affair to place 3rd behind Darrell Nelson and Rodney Sanders with Matt Leer and Cody Scholpp rounding out the Top-5.

Bringing the 13th annual Wild West Shootout to a close on Sunday, Strand secured his spot into the $2,000-to-win finale with an 8-lap heat race victory. Reeling in a Top-5 outing, Dustin notched a 4th place finish behind Ricky Thornton Jr., Rodney Sanders, and Dereck Ramirez with Darrell Nelson coming in 5th.
