May 23, 2019 - Strand Bags First Win of the Season at Red River
1Dustin Strand took his Q&Z Plumbing & Heating #71 Keewatin Truck Service/ Walhalla Builders/ Millenium Chassis Modified to the Winner’s Circle on Thursday evening at Red River Co-op Speedway.

The win marked his first in what has been a trying 2019 season to date.

“We haven’t had the opportunity to race very much due to the weather, but when we have raced it’s been a really tough year for us,” Strand commented. “We battled mechanical problems during the Wild West Shootout back in January in Arizona, and we battled more gremlins on Saturday night.

“There’s no quit in this team though, and we’re going to keep digging until we get everything lined out. The win on Friday night was much needed and shows us that we have the right pieces in place. We just need a little luck.”

Thursday night saw Dustin Strand kick off the Memorial Day Weekend at Red River Co-op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) for the track’s season-opener. In a field of 15 Wissota Modifieds, Strand advanced two spots in his 8-lap heat race to place second behind Scott Greer.

Starting the feature in the fourth position, Dustin battled with fellow Millenium Chassis pilot Lee McRae for nearly ten circuits until he took control. Strand went on to build a commanding lead en route to his first win of the season over Ward Imrie, McRae, Scott Greer, and Gavin Paull.

Mother Nature wiped out Friday's event at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, ND).

On Saturday's night at Devil's Lake Speedway (Lakota, ND) Dustin encountered mechanical problems early in the night on his Late Model that brought his outing to an early end.
